the new year

So with a new year came a new blog layout... but like most new years resolutions this one got procrastinated also.  oops.  So ignore the half-way finished new look :) Another semester has begun, which thankfully should be easier then last.  (maybe).

The first day of the new year brought a lot of excitement, I had my first trip to the hospital... ever.  Yay for allergic reactions.  It was a scary few hours for me, I am able to scare myself over most anything.  But my brother kept it interesting looking at my iv, grabbing my hand and messing with the thing taking my vitals, and telling me the monitor was telling us stuff it wasn't.  My dad was also there to keep me calm when I stopped breathing for a minute.  "Halie, you just need to breath." This comment brought a million sarcastic responses to my mind.. all of which went unsaid, because when you can not breath you also can not speak. Hopefully this trip will not be a trend for the year.

So far this year I have been well fed, my aunt came last week and we went to Zupas, my roommates and I went to Cracker Barrel last weekend (best french toast EVER) and last night we went to Olive Garden and then came home and made chocolate chip cookies... in muffin tins... with dove chocolates in the middle.  YUM.  Making these cookies were quite hilarious, Allyson was our kitchen aid... she made noises and everything for us.  Hopefully good food is a trend for the year.

So as far as new years resolutions go... I haven't made them yet.  Which just shows how much of a procrastinator I am.  But Thursday I have an 8 hour car ride ahead of me... I think that will be my goal for that.
