Just a Small Town Girl

In my last post I mentioned my new favorite Pandora station is "If I Die Young." As I have listened to the songs play over and over again this week,
(To my dear roommates, consider this a formal apology)
I  have contemplated how I am truly a country girl.

Now I am not a "cowgirl"  I can tell you the last time I was on a horse (nearly 5 years ago) And even though I did enjoy it, I have not been on it since.  But I am a country girl, I have done some things that I am sure would be a shock to some.

Here is a list of some normal activities-
mud bogging
racing down dirt roads (I never drove)
dry ice bombs
swimming in irrigation ditches
playing in irrigated fields
gone "trappin"
ditched class to go to the school farm (where my best friend lived)
hit a pheasant on the side of the road
walked out my front door within a two minute walk was in enough mountainous desert to go on a nice hike.
gone for a run in which my fear was coyotes and not rapists.


Among so many other things.

Living in the "big town" I am in now, has been a bit of a shock for me.  And although I do love living in a place with more then one restaurant, grocery store, gas station, and pizza places that do not double as gas stations.  I have come to the conclusion- I love me some small towns.  One day I want to live in a cute little house with a cute garden to work in. Maybe it is all that country music getting to my head- but doesn't that sound nice?
